Welcome... September 2010
By: Web Editor
Summer is always a busy time on the magazine and this year has been no exception, with car shows just about every weekend.
It’s a great opportunity to get out, meet readers and advertisers, see new cars and generally gauge the mood on the UK’s American car scene. I would say that last Summer things seemed a little bit more bleak with all the economic uncertainty that was flying about at the time.
It seems (to me at least,) that there is a bit more of a positive air out there this year - things might be tight and we have a long way to go ’til we’re out of the woods, but most American car owners seem to be putting their worries behind them and just getting on with enjoying their cars. Amen to that!
We’ve had to add another eight pages to this issue as we’re literally bursting at the seams with feature cars, articles and show reports. This month you can enjoy reading about the other Kennedy Lincoln, the early days of drag racing in the UK and a special feature on safety upgrades which we reckon are worth making if you’re concerned about making your classic safer.
In our final salute to Mercury, we’ve included a special commemorative poster of the legendary 1957 Mercury Turnpike Crusier - you can read all about this incredible vehicle on page 80. As always, we’re keen to hear your thoughts or comments on the UK’s number one American car magazine, so drop us a line!
