Welcome... June 2011

To celebrate spring we decided to put together a special RV & Leisure supplement in this month’s magazine. Just as many readers love American pick-up trucks and motorbikes, there are also plenty who love American-style caravans and camping.

So, we thought why not have an in-depth look at the various American options, covering everything from motorhomes to fifth-wheelers and Airstreams. We also look at the practicalities and law about owning and operating these various RVs in the UK.

By extension we also know that plenty of you like to have an American vehicle as a daily driver and may even use it for towing things, whether that’s a caravan, a race car or trailer or even a boat.

For that reason we’ve stuck with American vehicles sold in the UK for our tow car guide starting on page 90 (written by former editor Paul Guinness, who currently edits 4x4 Mart). As always we welcome your feedback and comments – so let us know your thoughts.

Starting from this month we’re also improving our private classifieds so that once you’ve submitted your advert it remains active until you contact us to cancel it. You can contact Classic American any time by telephone or e-mail (or even letter!) to alter the price or details, or cancel the advert  when the vehicle has sold. I hope you enjoy this month’s extended bumper edition, already we’re looking ahead to our 250th issue which is not that far off and will mark a great milestone for the title with almost 23 years in print since the very first issue went on sale in the summer of 1988!
